Threatening to crawl

So cute! Tavin will definitely be crawling soon. He is putting his little butt in the air and bending his knees. He is starting to figure out how it all works!

Giraffe

I had to get some photos of Tavin in the cute little giraffe costume before he grew out of it. He thought it was okay at first...and then the pictures go down hill. He had a look on his face like "what are you doing to me?" and then he would smile, but not when I had the camera. He usually gets so serious in front of the camera. Same goes for the videos too.

Gracie's Haircut

Gracie needs to get a haircut about three times a year. She has such thick, coarse hair and is a little chubby so she has difficulty with some cleaning. She has been going outside and coming back in with burrs stuck in her fur. So Teddy gave her a haircut while I held her down. She looks pretty good, don't you think? I think she was feeling a little self-conscious afterwards being so used to all that hair!

Wellness Checkup

Tavin had his six month wellness checkup. He is doing great! He weighs 16 lbs. 12 oz. and is 26 1/2 inches tall. He is a growing boy! Still no teeth yet. His gums don't seem to be bothering him quite as much as they were. He has been keeping mom up at night though. He wakes up about twice a night lately. Oh well, I don't mind too much. The way time seems to fly by it won't be long before I'm missing the late night visits rocking and holding him.

Tavin is 6 months old today!!

Our sweet, adorable Tavin is six months old today. He has blessed our lives, we are so thankful. I can not imagine my life without him. We went to storytime at the library this morning and then to a playdate this afternoon. He had a great time playing with the other babies and showing off his "carpet swimming" skills. He is always on the go and he isn't even crawling yet! He was in his friend's Johnny Jumper and was so hard to catch on the camera. I will have to treat taking his photo like taking photos at a sporting event!!

Baby-led Weaning

We are trying Baby-led Weaning with Tavin as well as purees. He gets to learn many things while doing baby-led weaning; hand-eye coordination, textures, hand transfer, etc. all while having control of what goes in his mouth, getting nutrients and having fun! It is so cute to watch him learn and have fun! In these videos he is playing with some pear. I read this book on Baby-led Weaning. It is a great book, I recommend it to parents wanting to try something new. It is very European :p
