Tavin in the Bumbo Chair

Tavin seems to like the Bumbo Chair. (thank you Karyn!) He likes to bang his hands on the tray with or without a toy in his hands. At the very end of the video he puts his hands in his mouth and spits up a bit.

Play time

Silly boy!

Rolling over.

Playdate

Tavin is so serious.

Tavin is making new friends at his playdates! This playdate was a lot of fun. The moms were nice and the babies were cute! It is great meeting other moms with babies around the same age as Tavin. The SAHM group has been very helpful for keeping our calendar busy. Playdates can be unpredictable with little baby schedules, this playdate had a great turn out.

Tavin had his first haircut the other day. He was kind of sporting a Mohawk with his hair so long going down the middle of his head. We just trimmed a little down the middle and put the hair in his baby book.
Tavin has also been teething, the poor little guy has been miserable. His first tooth has poked through, just a little nub.
We have been having fun with playdates, ECFE, walks and storytimes. There is plenty to do to keep us busy. Today was a "relaxing" day at home with laundry and vacuuming! (I know, how exciting) Tavin was in the Moby while I vacuumed and fell asleep right away. So cute!

Valentine's Day

We started the day at the Walker Art Museum. We thought that it was family day, but we went to the wrong museum! Oops. Oh well, we decided to stay anyway. We had a good time and Tavin enjoyed all the weird art as well.
Vanessa came over to hang out with Tavin while Mom and Dad went out to eat at Jake's. (A restaurant/lounge kind of place with decent food, service and prices.) Jake's had a surf and turf special that we shared along with some appetizer's and drinks. Yum! I had my first Martini in over a year. It was delicious, good thing I ate a lot or I would have been quite tipsy. (yes, I pumped and dumped)

Just too cute not to post

Tavin and Daddy in the morning.

Tavin in his new Moby wrap helping mom make Banana Bread.

Tavin cooing

I video taped Tavin hanging out and talking in his crib the other day. He was being so vocal and cute, I didn't want Ted or anyone else to miss out. Of course, as soon as I brought out the camera he stopped cooing and just looked at me. I had to wait a bit for him to get started again. I have ten short videos of this and I am not even sure if this is the best one out of them all. Enjoy!

Four Month Checkup

Tavin had his four month checkup yesterday. He now weighs 15lbs 4oz and is just a little shy of 27in. Can you believe how big he is getting?! I can't. He is growing so fast!
He also had more shots which he of course did not like. He cried just for a little bit after. Then we went to ECFE. (I regret scheduling the doctor appointment before ECFE.) ECFE was pretty good, I think we will both like it. We started with "circle time." The parents and kids sit in a circle with books until everyone gets settled. Then the teacher shakes a bell which means you should put the books back in the basket in the middle of the circle. We start off singing a "Hello" song, we say hello in five different languages while waving our hands and other sign language. We then sing a song where we shake our sillies out followed by a bubble song. During the bubble song a teacher brings out one of those mechanical bubble blowers, the kids love that. Pom poms were handed out and we all shook them during another song. Tavin was a little freaked out from the pom poms. He cried a bit. After the singing we break into age appropriate groups and play with some toys. Tavin put everything in his mouth. Thankfully the school is very good about washing everything. Then the parents separate from the children (except for the little babies like Tavin) and we go and discuss various topics while we have a snack and coffee.
I shouldn't have scheduled his doctor appointment on the same day. My kid was the fussy kid! I am glad I had the nursing apron with me. Tavin hung out under there for a small portion of the time.
After we got home from ECFE Tavin was pretty fussy for the rest of the day. He did sleep from 8:30pm to about 8:30 am!!! What a great baby our Tavin is.

Motorboat

He loves doing the motorboat. I am so glad he likes his activity mat. He plays on it all the time!
