Big brother and little sister

Not the best photo of the two of them, but I just wanted to show how big Matilda is next to Tavin. He better watch out!

Tavin is too busy to cooperate for the camera like he used to, so I'll take what smiles I can get.

Look who is sitting up all on her own! Matilda is so sweet. She was getting tired during this little photo shoot, but she still gave me some sweet smiles.

Matilda can get rather vocal at times. She felt like demonstrating a little bit of her vocal skills for the camera.

Matilda, six months?!

What a busy month we've all had. As I write this I'm realizing that Matilda is closer to seven months. I need to take more pictures and more often. This is all happening so fast. Tavin was potty trained over a month ago! Tavin loves wearing his big boy underwear. No more paci for him either. He is such a big boy! He is quite the chatter box too. He loves watching Charlie and Lola and the Cars movie over and over...and over and over again. It could be much worse though. Cars was his movie of choice while he and Matilda were both sick with RSV. Poor little kiddos, that was not a very fun couple of weeks.

Matilda is eating "solids" now. She has tried squash, sweet potatoes, sweet peas, green beans and carrots. She loves them all. We had a feeling that she would be a good eater. She isn't crawling yet but she is working on it. She is still doing the "carpet swimming" that Tavin did before he started crawling and is also sticking her butt up in the air doing an inch worm-type move. She mostly rolls to get to where she wants to go, she is pretty quick too.

Papa Lewis drove all the way from Michigan to visit for a couple of days. He met Matilda for the first time! He was so happy to meet her, he was quite impressed. He had a wonderful time cuddling with Matilda and watcing Tavin play.

Matilda and I spent this weekend in Sioux Falls with the Gillen Girls while Tavin and Ted had a boys weekend at home. The girls made jewelry, pet the neighbors horses, played in the front lawn with bubbles and trikes and scooters and I even got Cecilia and Piper to practice their piano lessons. Cecilia also performed her Clarinet solo for us. Matilda had a turn on the piano too, she loves the piano just as much as Tavin does.

Tavin loves to cuddle with Matilda. Tavin likes to play "nap time" with blankets and pillows. When it comes to take an actual nap, good luck.
