Apples, friends, sticks, sun and toads! Oh My!

It's always a nice day if you start out with a good book.

S is for sun.

S is for soldiers, too. The cuisenaire rods never make an appearance without becoming soldiers.

"Yes, I got it again!" Tavin playing Logik Street.

The pirates were counting their treasure; we counted this as our math for the day!

If only it were real gold!

Painting suns.

Tavin was making his Character Badge. "Jesus is the light of the world."

Matilda snacking on some "trees" and "sun carrots."

And off to pick apples with our friends; turned out to be a beautiful day! Little did we know that there would be flash flooding that night!

Mmm, mmm, delicious apples!

After picking apples we settled near the orchard for play and a picnic although silly me forgot to pack a lunch; good thing for friends who share.

The kids found a toad and were taking turns chasing each other with it, I mean holding it.

Tavin's turn!

Matilda made some big bubbles!

Some of the gang.

Fun with sticks! Abe is trying his best to keep up with big brother Tavin.

Big sticks for a big boy!

Matilda says that, "Adria is my best friend!"

This photo will get printed and put on our wall for sure!
(That guitar shirt is apparently one of Tavin's favorites since he wears it all the time.)

They helped cut up some apples and we made applesauce!
Home made applesauce is easy to make and so delicious!

Never a dull moment...

It's never a dull moment with the Lewis Littles...
add in their friends and get ready for some wild fun!

We visited the zoo with our good friend Cherith and her daughter, Adria! The kids played in the eggs for awhile; I think they decided these were dinosaur eggs, makes sense.

This is what happens when Abe walks into the bathroom while Daddy is getting ready for work.
Cool hairstyle!

One cool hairstyle inspired more fun in the bathroom.

Just some good 'ole goofin' around.

Waiting for our friends at the bridge at the creek.

Let the creek fun begin!

What did you find?!

A crawdad!

What a great place to be a kid!

Even Abe got into the water fun.

Sitting like this Matilda reminds me of a statue of the little mermaid I had when I was a child.

He played with sticks and threw rocks in the water; it's like kids just know to do these things.

Ted put Abe in one of the Pirate costumes and Abe ran out saying, "Argh!"
We all giggled for the afternoon over it.

Working on the Creation Unit from My Father's World.

What kid can resist using cotton balls for clouds??

They love to draw roads for the cars.

Another fun day with our Charlotte Mason Nature Study friends!
We are so blessed to have found these wonderful people!

Adria had fun decorating Matilda's face!

Miss Cherith and Adria shared their lovely nature walk with us one afternoon.

We picked wild plums...

ran up and down a hill...

and rolled...

and picked wild flowers...

and made enchanting bouquets...
Cherith read Psalm 27 and we sang the Hymn "How Great Thou Art" under a shady tree. I got a little teary-eyed; it's mine and my grandma's favorite.

Tavin finishing up his Creation Book.

They experimented with balancing water and marbles.

We started My Father's World - Kindergarten with a study on the Creation. The kids each made a book but decided to display them on the wall instead. Here is a short video of
Tavin's description of the Creation.
Get ready for an overdose of adorable.
