Oh My!

I couldn't resist posting this picture. Hehehehe.

New Hair Gel

Tavin has invented a new hair gel. He thought he'd model it for you in these pictures. All you have to do is put your hands in your chicken alfredo dinner and then rub your hands through your hair. What do you think? In these economic times you must reuse, reduce and recycle.
Tavin is so much fun!

Tavin is walking

What a busy month for Tavin. We moved to South Dakota for daddy's new job at the University of South Dakota. Yay for daddy! It is nice to be near family. Tavin makes his Great Grandma Elaine laugh on a daily basis.

Tavin has been such a trooper with all the driving, packing and unpacking that we have been doing and not to mention his new environment. He has hit a few milestones these last few weeks. In addition to his clapping and high fives, he signs "all done" when he is done eating. He is understanding and communicating more every day. He is babbling a lot and sometimes throws out an understandable word. He said "mama" a few times while we were busy moving. Grandma Sandy was playing with Tavin while I was packing, he saw me walk by and got a little sad and said "mama." I couldn't walk by without saying hello to him if he saw me.

Tavin also went on a road trip with his Aunt Heidi and cousins to Minneapolis so I could attend Vanessa's bridal shower. We all stayed in a hotel room together (next time get a suite) and enjoyed the pool. Tavin loves to be in the water.

Last night Tavin was playing a game with me. We were sitting at the diner table and Tavin was standing next to his daddy's chair. Tavin was walking ("sneaking") towards me while holding onto Ted's chair and would touch me and pull away quickly while giggling. He also likes to crawl away a little bit, look back at you and then crawl away some more, giggling, hoping you chase after him. He is a lot of fun and is rather adorable too.

Yesterday was a busy day of walking for Tavin. He has been taking a few steps here and there for almost two weeks but yesterday he walked more in one day than all the days combined.

Soon it will be his first birthday. I would like to do something fun for him, maybe a day at the zoo on his actual birthday and a little party the weekend after. It will be fun to see him to try some cake. He is a good eater. He eats mostly what we eat and loves his sippy cup and snack dispenser.

Time to give Tavin a hug and some kisses!

Ten months old!

Tavin is ten months old today! Wow, already?! Dad caught Tavin dancing on video, that is what it looks like anyway with the music and Tavin bopping up and down. These videos are pretty much how Tavin is all day. He is very active and fun to watch.

Tavin is giving high fives now and has six teeth! He is eating more and more solid foods and finger foods to burn up all that energy and makes the mess to prove it. These photos are at the end of our dinner this evening. He had scrambled eggs, toast with jam, carrot pieces and carrot puree mixed with turkey puree, blueberries and strawberries. He usually sits with his feet propped up on the back of his tray bouncing his legs up and down. He has busy legs all the time.

Tavin in SD

Baby Tavin is really growing up! In the first photo he looks more like a little boy than a baby. He is so precious.
We thought it was time for an updated family photo. Aunt Karen was our photographer. Thank you Karen. There are a lot of good photos. Tavin looks good in all of them of course, it was more difficult picking the good photos of me and Ted.
Tavin had fun playing with his girl cousins in SD. He learned that three girls are just as wild as three boys.

Michigan videos

Robert and Tavin had fun climbing in the learning tower together. Tavin always wanted to be in the tower or climbing up it.

There are so many cute videos of Tavin it is difficult to decide which videos to post.

It's been too long

Tavin is keeping pretty busy, it has been too long since the last post. Earlier this month he went to the Mall of America to see the butterflies with some friends. One butterfly landed on his hand and regretted it, Tavin wanted to squish it but it got away.

After the fourth we traveled to see his cousins in Michigan. He got to see Lake Michigan for the first time and play in the sand. The water was too intimidating for him, he held on to me very tightly when we went near it.

He had fun with his cousins, they made him smile and giggle a lot. He played with a lot of cars and trucks while with his cousins. He rode a carousel for the first time too.

Tavin is crawling and pulling himself up like a pro. He has stood up a few times from a squatting position without holding on to anything. He is also pushing his walker around, going for a stroll.
